DE-CIX German Internet Exchange is the central, international Internet exchange in Frankfurt am Main. Founded in 1995, DE-CIX today is the most important Internet exchange for Central and Eastern Europe, and the largest Internet exchange worldwide for data throughput. Over 450 ISPs from over 50 countries carry out an essential part of their Internet traffic through DE-CIX. The independent carrier-neutral owner and operator of the Internet exchange is DE-CIX Management GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of eco e.V., German Internet Industry Association based in Cologne.

Network Engineer
As a network engineer, you can expect unusual challenges that you can meet with the newest technology at your disposal and working together with a friendly team of specialists. Thus you ensure the quality and productivity of our network infrastructure and help to offer our international customers the excellent service they have gotten used to.
Main tasks
- Implement and operate a high end switch infrastructure
- Implement and operate passive and active optical networks
- Optimize and automatize repetitive processes, perform maintenance tasks, troubleshooting including technical documentation
- Give technical support to colleagues in other departments as well as be on call for customer questions and requests

What we are looking for
- IT degree or comparable education
- Several years work experience in network administration, LAN/WAN, routing and switching
- Excellent know-how of network technology and network communication
- Very secure in working with optical data transfer
- Skilled in working with operating systems such as Linux and Windows
- Sound understanding of current scripting language (e.g. Perl, PHP)
- Excellent English skills
