DE-CIX offers Internet exchange, interconnect and colocation solutions to the largest aggregation of networks in the industry. Leverage the benefits of the critical mass of networks that DE-CIX has assembled with more than 500 wholesale, broadband and content providers, including all the top global Tier 1 networks. Customers can directly setup IP-peering or transit connections with the providers that serve over 80% of the world's Internet networks and users.

DE-CIX Frankfurt is the leading Internet exchange in the heart of Europe and is the gateway that connects networks from Central and Eastern Europe with global networks from all over the world. In order to participate on the public peering platforms DE-CIX offers, there are a couple of services needed:

• PEER is the layer 2 switching port to connect to the peering network
• BANDWIDTH is either the fiber connecting the customer’s router to the DE-CIX layer 2 switch, or a dedicated VLAN channel connecting two locations inside a city

In order to differentiate the services DE-CIX offers throughout its four cities and nine locations, a brief explanation for our key terms relating to the varying scales of interconnections is required.

• Globe products are related to peering and tag the location where customers can expect to peer with global players
• Regional products are related to peering and tag the location where customers can expect to peer with regional players
• Metro products are related to interconnections between the locations inside city limits
• Campus products are related to interconnection or colocation inside a housing facility.
