Reach networks with a restrictive peering policy
Having a direct connection to a network the size of Comcast’s gives us a distinct advantage over other cloud providers.
With DE-CIX DirectROUTES, you can get direct access to high-quality networks with a restrictive peering policy. Even with small bandwidth requirements, we can offer you direct access to those networks, just via an additional VLAN. No additional contract negotiations are required, and we offer you flexible bandwidth and cancellation terms.
Get access to Comcast, America’s largest Cable TV and Internet service provider
The first network available via DE-CIX DirectROUTES is Comcast, America’s largest Cable TV and Internet service provider, which serves more residential broadband subscribers than any other US provider. Comcast don't peer at Internet Exchanges, making this an ideal opportunity to get direct access into Comcast's AS7922 eyeball network.
Why you should connect to Comcast via DirectROUTES
DE-CIX DirectROUTES makes it easy for small to medium-sized networks to connect to Comcast simply via a VLAN on an existing or new access. If you are not connected yet, it is easy to find a suitable place and save costly metro circuits and cross connect costs: DE-CIX is present in most major data centers in New York and in Dallas, and the service is also remotely available from Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Dusseldorf, Marseille, and Istanbul.
Getting direct access to Comcast's network will improve your network quality by lowering latency, giving you control over the capacity and in this way eliminating congestions, and using the most stable path to optimize your routing table. Comcast is not reachable directly anywhere else if you don't have direct paid peering with them.
Delivery is very fast – it is just a matter of configuration if you are already connected to one of the exchanges where the DE-CIX DirectROUTES service is available.
If you are not connected yet, we can get your access to the DE-CIX platform and the DirectROUTES service up and running within a few days.
There is no need to have a contract directly with Comcast. The DE-CIX DirectROUTES service is delivered under the standard DE-CIX terms and conditions. This is time and money you can save by connecting via DE-CIX: We’ve already completed the negotiations, you just add a VLAN to your access.
Due to the easy technical setup, you don't have any additional cross connect costs if you already have access to DE-CIX. You will get connected simply via an additional VLAN on your access port.
At Pixel factory we were experiencing significant latency swings and packet loss to Comcast via our multiple transit providers during different days or time of day. (…) Solving this nagging problem was a couple of clicks and the magic of the DE-CIX solution. This way we streamlined our hardware requirements, reduced cross connects and port count, and provided better class of connectivity to our clients.
