Expansion to Norway: DE-CIX’s newest Internet Exchanges in Oslo and Kristiansand are now ready for service

Frankfurt am Main (Germany) / Oslo (Norway), 3 May 2023: DE-CIX, the world’s leading Internet Exchange (IX) operator and home to the largest carrier and data center neutral interconnection ecosystem globally, today announces its newest Internet Exchanges in Oslo and Kristiansand (Norway) are ready for service. The inauguration was celebrated in a well-attended ceremony in the Norwegian capital Oslo together with the BULK Infrastructure Group AS. BULK Infrastructure is Norway’s leader in building and operating sustainable digital infrastructure, data center, colocation, fiber networks, and industrial real estate. The new DE-CIX IXs are now available in the BULK data centers in Oslo (OS-IX) and Kristiansand (Campus N01), with more enabled sites to be announced in due course. The award-winning DE-CIX Apollon interconnection and cloud platform includes cloud routing services for companies of all sizes to manage their hybrid and multi-cloud scenarios and gain control of their data beyond the public Internet. With the approach of one access, all clouds, and every network, DE-CIX is bringing its so-called InterconnectionFLEX service to Norway, which provides enterprises with a complete interconnection package as a holistic solution for peering, cloud connectivity and private network interconnects (PNIs). Customers can benefit from direct access to over 50 clouds, 2000+ local and international networks and over 250 data centers in Germany, Southern Europe, and the USA – with one single contract and full flexibility, including a comprehensive interconnection consultation. In addition, DE-CIX in Norway will act as a digital hub for regional connectivity, enabling local networks low-latency interconnection and localization of global content, while increasing network stability, scalability, and security. The DE-CIX interconnection and cloud platform also offers advanced service features and automation, including access to the DE-CIX self-service portal and the DE-CIX API.
