Connectivity Innovator of the Year: DE-CIX wins DataCloud Global Award 2022

After a pause during the Covid-19 pandemic, the DataCloud Global awards ceremony was again held in Monaco last night, as part of the DataCloud Global Congress 2022. We are delighted to report that our DE-CIX as a Service program came first in the newly-created Connectivity Innovator of the Year Award.

Support in building and operating an IX

By supporting partners to create their own local interconnection ecosystems, we are bringing data exchange closer to the edge. DE-CIX as a Service, an Infrastructure as a Service offer specially designed for data centers in greenfield interconnection markets and tier 2/3 cities, provides support in building and operating an IX using DE-CIX’s technology. By interconnecting the IX with our global ecosystems, DaaS enables the largest data center and carrier neutral “virtual meet-me-room” in the world.

We can now count nine DE-CIX as a Service locations in operation or implementation around the world. Newcomers like IRAQ-IXP powered by DE-CIX and Aqaba-IX powered by DE-CIX (in Jordan) join success stories like the UAE-IX powered by DE-CIX (in Dubai) and SEECIX powered by DE-CIX (in Athens), and attest to the potential of the model.
