DE-CIX India is expanding DWDM network capacity

DE-CIX India is expanding its Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network capacity at the Internet Exchanges in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata in order to provide the most robust network on the Indian subcontinent.

Increased capacity up to 320 GE

We have replaced existing devices to increase capacity in India, and we can now deliver bandwidth speeds of up to 320 GE across our DWDM network infrastructure.

DWDM technology provides the ultimate scalability and reach for fiber networks. It is compatible with upcoming advances in optical networks and helps to create a highly reliable, transparent, and very scalable network that makes interconnection easy.

We also upgraded software versions for better performance and reliability. Additionally, the deployment of second fiber rings will improve the network efficiency and increase the network availability.

New peak in Mumbai – 1.1 Tbps

DE-CIX India has presence in 12 data centers in across India increasing our ability to offer comprehensive interconnection services across the country. The backbone capacity has been doubled in Mumbai, where a new peak traffic hit 1.1 Terabit per second (Tbps).

Following Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai, the roll-out of a 100 Gbps capability at DE-CIX Kolkata will also ensure the best interconnection services in the eastern parts of the country.
