Our Engineering team has been busy with upgrades and bringing us closer to the edge. At DE-CIX Munich, we have migrated our existing customers to new Nokia SR-2 boxes and made plenty of 100GE access ports available at the Equinix and EdgeConneX data centers.
In addition to the infrastructure upgrade, we also took live a new DE-CIX-enabled site: Noris network is already connected and the first customer is live.

Getting closer to the edge
In 2019, Munich enjoyed growth close of 60 percent in ASNs, and in March 2020 set a new peak traffic record. This positive growth in Munich, as well as in our other regional exchanges, is a clear indication of the need to bring networks closer to the edge.
