Harald A. Summa, DE-CIX's CEO, has been elected as one of three Co-Chairs of the Organization Member Advisory Council (OMAC) of the Internet Society. OMAC represents the members of the Internet Society including representatives from academia, corporations, international organizations, and governments. The council acts an advisory body to the Internet Society senior management and board on matters affecting the general welfare and effectiveness of the global Internet and its users.

The Internet Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet. The three Co-Chairs of OMAC share the duties of convening meetings, communicating with members, and advising the leadership of the Internet Society on matters of strategic and operational importance. The chairs are elected for a period of two years.
